As a reader, the amount of sound effects and words can be overwhelming to the point that I don't even want to decipher it all, so I can only imagine how much harder it is to translate it all, clean it, type set it, and have it come out...

Yeah they have been pretty much from the start of the manga. It's just Kanan is super plus ultra extra tsundere and has been claiming for the longest time that it's only so she can devour his soul and she doesn't  actually like him.

I definitely like to have honorifics included. They're very important for conveying the tone and characters' attitudes towards each other, and since there's no direct analogue in English, you either have to try and come up with substitutes, which is hard, or leave them out, which then you lose...
