IMO, this manga is really not written for anyone who goes around using the expression "simp". It's, like, subtle and stuff.

Frankly, I don't think not telling your lover about stuff from your past that isn't directly relevant is normally a big deal. Just because you love someone does not mean they have either a right or a responsibility to know every single thing about you. There's stuff that is nobody's business...

I notice that although there's definitely a similar age hierarchy in Japanese fiction, it still seems quite culturally different. A Japanese senpai is, like, respected, but it's this two-way street . . . sure, there's an expectation of a little bit of respect, but also there's this obligation...
