On the one hand, I thought the sudden powerup was bit of an asspull. On the other hand, having the sudden powerup lead to him getting his ass stomped is somehow even less satisfying.

Same, I didn't mind the elf getting pasted offscreen, but we blew through that dungeon so fast I have no idea what the point was other than to add some monsters to the background NPCs.
