@Nick86 Usazaki is an artist first and foremost, not a writer. Maybe she’ll write her own series later on, but you can’t just ask her to take over someone else’s story overnight. It’d be like asking, say, Obata Takeshi to finish Death Note or Bakuman after Ohba Tsugumi went AWOL.

@Nick86 Have you even thought for a second about the artist, a young woman, who’d have to keep working with a convicted molester? Even if Matsuki was somehow allowed to continue writing the story, I highly doubt Usazaki would ever want to touch it again considering the pressure she’d have to...

Since the scene under the tree is apparently in June (going by the first chapter's title) and that the school year ends in March in Japan, that means there's been 3 to 4 months tops since Rin and Shiho parted ways. That's quite short actually.
