@Couchpotato Well, kinda… and kinda not. Takano originally appears in Higurashi, but this series' Takano seems to be a different version of her, unrelated to the Higurashi one… so there's no real connection plot-wise. But having read Higurashi can give a few things away.

Well, if the prologue novel is anything to go by, So, quite some time. It's interesting that the way to approach the whole mystery about her is different depending on whether you've read Higurashi or not.

@Crosonical What changed was Hachi's mindset, plain and simple. At the beginning he only whined about having no talent, and refused any kind of advice. He was just flailing around with no proper skill or direction. Notice that he started to improve when he actually started listening to people...
