@BCS Heh. What can I say? Old school SF nerd.

I can sort of get why people would not dig the first name thing. But at the same time it feels like a kind of cultural insularity, and a failure of imagination. Can people really not grok anything different from their own personal experience? My personal and cultural milieu is pretty informal...

I'm with @pokefairy on this. I think the whole literal melting thing is hilarious and kind of inspired. (I like some smaller things too, like the way that friend's two balls of hair leaped off her head that time)

As a rule I don't have much time for doujins that are fanfics of something, but for some reason I just throw that snobbishness away for NanoFate. They're so cute together, and everyone who writes about them has this warmth for the characters.

I guess the moral is, avoid submitting your work to a publisher called "Purgatory".

It's all so lovely but the weird cross-hatching on people's cheeks just niggles at me, I can't get used to it. Looks like they have scales or something. The prostration pilgrimage thing reminds me of this.

@Mordenheim Well it would have been sad--her birthday, also Valentine's day, all alone not knowing what to do with her life . . . but then! The Fried Chicken came and swept her off her feet!

I echo her "Huh?" Meanwhile, those kids . . . in general I'm kind of with younger sis about loosening up, but frankly a huge loan at 25%--older sis is right, that could eat them up and where are their dreams then? Something like that is a major crisis and you do whatever you can to get rid of...

@Kendama Point. You can do surprising amounts with a stage. But still, goes to show if that guy had access to a cast of thousands and Industrial Light and Magic, he would have used them!

@welcome2atlantis The key difference is, the ads for action figures feature much deeper voices and louder music.

I think people are missing the point here. I love Nana to Kaoru. It's a great romance and it's about SM in a fairly realistic sense. But this appears to be about SM fantasy, those daydreams where you skip the boring lectures about safewords and dial the tension high. As that, it's fine thus far.
