I think he mentioned "aura" one time when talking about how they measure other's strength, but anything else looks legit. I agree that explanation about the "guest" is lame, it's enough to know he was deceived and confused by the sudden change of situation. I don't see the dbz feeling though.

I think you got things wrong, Yuu could've killed shougo with that kick. Also they said it was a fight, not a competition. The chapter's named "Egoist", for crying out loud. Everybody was being a dick there.
