Just my two cents, I think that's more of a "Wait, what was I thinking?" rather than talking to themselves. And no, いや待て私... is correct Japanese, it's not broken speech or a unique characteristic.
Japanese doesn't work the same way English does.

I won't get into details because it's tiring. I also won't mention characters that still haven't appeared in the scaned chapters yet.
Not too bad of an ending but it definitely feels rushed.
シネ(死ね) means telling someone to die in Japanese, and it has the same spelling as the English word "Shine".
The sister thought the foreigner was telling her to die, when in fact he was complimenting her performance.
It definitely will be better than seeing a masculine body in front of a mirror every day. A feminine body is what she used to live for 10+ years, of course she'll feel the most comfortable.
What's so hard to understand?
