To be fair, 1:nobody in this manga is realistic. They are all over the top with their jerkishness to a ridiculous degree. Plus, they are children. There's no chance a child would read a contract that, as chapter 1 showed, is pretty obvious designed to be as complicated and convoluted as possible...
