While I agree the level of maturity on display is refreshing, something still feels off to me about his former teammates. I don't know if it is just we haven't seen enough of them yet, but they feel weirdly distant maybe? I dunno how to put it, but they give me weird vibes so far.

How nice of him to give his little "your suffering inconvenienced me, so you were the traitor here" speech... It added a dash of extra spice to the gory meal we're all here for. Ignoring the mc for a sec, that kingdom is doomed anyway if everyone in it is total garbage - the demons taking them...
