I am curious to see how the author plays this from here, because he did bend and is gonna save this place - to the joy of his companions... But this paints a colossal target on him (as many of you have already said) that can only lead to trouble. This city will likely not be grateful - certain...

I love how the regular troops are beyond fed up with this now. It's nice to see that despite loyalty, they have limits and are pissed about the whole debacle... (Usually the nameless grunts just die or run off, it is rare to get to see them deal with the failure of the leaders.)

He is incredibly frustrating, but I wanna note something he (and the series itself) is neglecting to consider; she has proven to be highly intelligent, strategic, powerful and could "destroy the nation"... So why does he seem hellbent on pushing her to another nation outside his influence...
