The difference in styles is startling. There you are, taking in early Ishiguro Masakazu line work... and all of a sudden you're looking at art from his Heavenly Delusion era! I ain't complaining, mind you. It's just a dramatic reminder of how much time has passed. He's still excellent as always...

This is five years late, but for what it's worth, the description of the manga includes this-- "[...] Common themes: the end of the Heisei era and gay women talking with het women." And if you examine the protag's actions, they're consistent with (at least) straight-passing behavior. E.g., her...

Such pretty artwork! If you compare with the mangaka's Holy Sword Legend: Legend of Mana, which is 10 years older, you can see how much more refined the art has become in this one-shot. 💎

This beautiful manga got an official English release. Ishiguro-sensei's line work looks great in print, and this is true with the Heavenly Delusion paperbacks as well. I hope we'll see the rest someday.

When this got an official English release in 2023, I made sure to grab a paperback copy! Still excellent on a re-read, 100%. It remains fresh after 30-plus years. Now, if that doesn't make it a manga classic, I might as well lie down in a field and stay there until I become a skeleton, ha ha! 😜

Well, no specific manga really. I just meant manga in general. And, in the case of this series, the cutesy cover art sure didn't prepare me for the story within, lol! (BTW, I literally logged in today after years and years... so you aren't "late"!)
