    Berserk - Vol. 24 Ch. 204 - Enoch Village

Lol, but seriously, you do you. This arc would work very well as a party-based JRPG with dating-sim features.

    Berserk - Vol. 23 Ch. 196 - Like a Baby

The old shepherd seems pretty worldly, the way he described the port city situation. He didn't even comment on the ridiculous slab of iron on Guts' back.

Berserk - Vol. 23 Ch. 195 - The Night of Falling Stars

No lie, that spirit display would leave me shaken too. People IRL have joined cults for far less.

Berserk - Vol. 23 Ch. 193 - Banner of the Flying Sword

Indie band Hawk hits the big time Frontman Griff sells out his bandmates He then fills Hawk with random celebs Goes on a Midland-wide tour ... AND THE FANS LOVE IT!

    Berserk - Vol. 22 Ch. 185 - Of Snow and Flames/First Act

Chapters such as these remind me why Berserk has the reputation it does. It isn't just a (first-rate) tale of war and battles. It shall be remembered for as long as manga is read anywhere.

Berserk - Vol. 22 Ch. 184 - War Cry of the Wind (2)

Hey, that's No-Face from Spirited Away! Still obsessive, after all these years...

Tsukiatte Agete mo Ii kana - Ch. 1

Reread this today. Saw the line: "I can't draw instruments." Went and checked the end of volume two of the serialization, where Tamifull talks about guitar and bass. Man, it's been a long time, hasn't it?

    Tonari No Scanlation

Hi, this is three years late, but I wanted to say thank you for completing the rest of the Kyouko to Tousan manga! I've had my eye on it for years. I recently found you'd posted, and I was really happy! 😄

Kyouko to Tousan - Vol. 1 Ch. 3 - Dad and My Younger Sister

Thanks so much for picking up this series, Tonari No Scanlation!

    Nemurubaka - Vol. 1 Ch. 7.6 - Volume Extra

The difference in styles is startling. There you are, taking in early Ishiguro Masakazu line work... and all of a sudden you're looking at art from his Heavenly Delusion era! I ain't complaining, mind you. It's just a dramatic reminder of how much time has passed. He's still excellent as always...

The Works of Ryoko Kui: Seven Little Sons of the Dragon

Seconding daywithoutgames' comment. The paperback is of good quality. The art looks great in its intended medium, paper.

    Just You And I - Ch. 1 - Baby Don't Cry

This is five years late, but for what it's worth, the description of the manga includes this-- "[...] Common themes: the end of the Heisei era and gay women talking with het women." And if you examine the protag's actions, they're consistent with (at least) straight-passing behavior. E.g., her...

    Massaging the Woman I Admire

Such pretty artwork! If you compare with the mangaka's Holy Sword Legend: Legend of Mana, which is 10 years older, you can see how much more refined the art has become in this one-shot. 💎

    Getenrou

This beautiful manga got an official English release. Ishiguro-sensei's line work looks great in print, and this is true with the Heavenly Delusion paperbacks as well. I hope we'll see the rest someday.

    River's Edge - Vol. 1 Ch. 14

When this got an official English release in 2023, I made sure to grab a paperback copy! Still excellent on a re-read, 100%. It remains fresh after 30-plus years. Now, if that doesn't make it a manga classic, I might as well lie down in a field and stay there until I become a skeleton, ha ha! 😜

Ponko of the Stars and Reiko of the Tofu Shop

Well, no specific manga really. I just meant manga in general. And, in the case of this series, the cutesy cover art sure didn't prepare me for the story within, lol! (BTW, I literally logged in today after years and years... so you aren't "late"!)

    Chihone no Shanikusai

Only three chapters uploaded, and this collection is already a must-read for Uguisu Sachiko fans.

Chihone no Shanikusai - Vol. 1 Ch. 3 - Our Secret Base

    Boy's stats: Ideological commitment = 10/10 Guerrilla = 6/10 Infrastructure = 8/10 Reconnaissance = 8/10 Liaison = 1/10

Chihone no Shanikusai - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - On Your Right

Brr... that's creepy all right. It reminds me of the one-shot, Look Me in the Eyes When You Talk, which, while being different, shares the feeling of isolated dread.

Shibito no Koe wo Kiku ga Yoi - Vol. 12 Ch. 78 - Aoba Apocalypse Part 3

Okay then. First of all, this manga is great. Maintaining a consistent level of quality across twelve volumes is an admirable feat for a mangaka. Seven years! I would readily recommend this series to the right sort of reader, with the warning that the ending may be unsatisfying. If I'm to judge...
