Yeah, it's a handy thing. Some people try to fit something in with the text, others put a little afterword page and mention it there, which delays the explanation but doesn't interrupt the flow. I lean afterword myself.

The whole deal with memory wipe creates great tension, because while we can pretty much discount a sad ending in the sense of everyone dying, the possibility of a "happy"ish ending with deleted memories is a lot more plausible but for me at least, about as bad. Sure hope they don't actually do it.
