It's a manga, not real, so the pain is all imaginary, and seeing characters grow and get redeemed is satisfying to read.

I'd hope not. Nothing worse than when a manga like this gets a h manga spinoff that just spoils the fun. That kind of thing is something you can make after the story finishes, but you can't just let the cat out of the bag.

Haven't watched the anime in a while, didn't notice all those changes, wow. I guess I usually prefer when adaptations take liberties (because you can never do a perfect adaptation anyway), but neat. Seems like it'd cause problems if they ever did a season 2 though. Not that they ever will...

Out of curiosity, do you know if the kappa city animation they made at the end of the anime is something that's just much later in the manga, or was it entirely anime original?
