in a nutshell: attack means overtaking the opponent, defend means preventing the opponent from overtaking the driver. Both attack & defend happen on the corners because overtaking on straight line with DRS is inevitable & boring. you can check these vids here for the details:

not sure about other series/categories of motorsport but I'd say F1 put quite a lot of effort on making the sport sustainable targeting net-zero 2030, and the highlight of their effort is the development of sustainable fuel with less fossil fuel. while it's still not 100%, it might still be not...
