I don't think the story is meant to be all that realistic, to be fair. But in this particular case - why not? If the guest she's entertaining is no one particularly important, just a spouse of a negotiator or something.

I mean, there could be possible ethnical systems where he would've right had she been speaking about herself, and her own situation. In what comes to Kaguya, she's 100% spot on, and she owes no one any gratitude not to voice that.

You clearly just want to nitpick. They are physiologically not virgins. Sure. Same for any other sexual contact with the same result that does not include vaginal penetration with a penis. Given that the other name for hymenoplasty is "virginity restoration", that is the intended conclusion...

I mean, virginity is physiological? Women are born with a hymen whatever concepts of sexual morality their society subscribes to.
