Nah, the light novel is still ongoing. The web novel finishes with but the author keeps it going with the light novel. That said, I haven't read it so no idea if this is accurate to the light novel.

I get that the author wants to do everything he can to make Yami seem sympathetic and not just toxic and self-destructive, but can we go back to the present day for at least a chapter or two before we jump into even more flashbacks?

I tried that too, it still mostly referred to Ibis as him lol. I only read a small amount and skimmed a bit before I stopped, so I didn't get enough info to know differently lol

I don't care if people are dropping this or saying it's hot garbage, I'm enjoying the ride. And the comments. Also, I just skimmed through this part of the mtl translated novel, but it referred to Ibis as a male. Mtl translations suck with gender, but I'm still not entirely convinced otherwise...
