Just because he killed doesn't mean he has to keep killing. There is nothing wrong in "letting himself get tripped up" or whatever. There is no god-given duty or some such to see his unrealistic pipedream to the bitter end. All the killing he's done isn't going to be more justified or gain...

Kitami can change his mind at any time, though. There is no reason why this has to be his "life mission", and egging him on on a path that is fundamentally self-destructive is incredibly fucked up. That can only come from a position of thorough ignorance, or from pure, malicious selfishness...
