That’s probably the point. Ame’s self-loathing and anxiety is possibly the worst of the characters we’ve seen, which is a very high bar. It only takes a tiny bit of validation to make that anxiety explode, and I’ve seen plenty of people on the internet lose themselves over a single negative comment.
