With the context that this was the ending it makes the idol group suddenly breaking up a couple of issues back makes a lot more sense

I like it, the way it's portrayed Qui Tong hasn't considered the possibility of them dating so having her sort out her feelings is a good choice imo

They're a year apart, there's barely a gap there
