I am only aware of volumes 3-5 and "Pig Girl Suzy" from volume 2 having been translated before. I commissioned the translation of volumes 3-5 (Chapter of Anomalocaris) many years ago but I had no involvement with "Pig Girl Suzy". If anything else from the first two volumes got previously...
I have to complete set (no, I won't rip them apart and scan them) and the contents of the English version is as follows:
The Collection:
My Pickled Eyeball
The Wishing Mirror
The Spiderweb Tattoo
The Embryo
The Growth
The Chicken Head
My Friend Frankie
The Collection 2:

Great, that means less work for me! That is a shockingly small file, though. My VHS rip comes in at 1,63GB. I guess it depends on how much you like it if it is worth that much digital space. I don't think it's a masterpiece of animation but, like many early 80ies adult anime OVAs, I consider it...
There are two more one-shots unrelated to the main story still to come in this volume.
By the way, this manga was adapted into a 24 minute anime OVA by the same company (midnight 25) who also did the live-action Guinea Pig series (of which Hino obviously directed two episodes). Possibly the...
ARGH! Why are you telling/showing me this?! I'm already buying way more old magazines and manga than I can afford!
Just kidding, I really appreciate the info. It's kind of amazing that even such established, successful and well-known artists like Hino can have uncollected works floating around.
I have no yet gone down the rabbit hole of uncollected Hino works. I've done it with other artists (Kago, for example) and it can be as exciting as it tends to be expensive if you want to actually get your hands on those "hidden" gems.
I ordered those 3 Hino collections, of course. I've been...
IIRC it was added because of the not exactly male-presenting outfits a certain character wears in the third volume but I've removed the tag to avoid confusing/disappointing anyone else.
This is redrawn version of a story originally published in GARO magazine in 1968. Those who are interested in the 1968 version can find it here:

I've been a fan of Toshiharu Ikeda's film (and his work as a director in general) for many years. The movie is what got me to finally buy the manga. I was just curious. Turned out film is a very loose adaptation. But I found the manga to be completely and utterly insane in ways that were...
I don't like announcing future projects because I tend to translate whatever I feel like at any given moment. It's an advantage of being a one man operation. This has resulted in half-finished projects from 10+ years ago that remain sitting in a folder somewhere until I maybe pick them up again...
Yes, to both questions. As far as Hino is concerned, I plan to finish Legend of the Sun (3 more volumes to go) before I even consider anything else. As for other authors, expect more from the usual suspects and probably some new ones as well.
