@MrF0x It clear "the shop" isn't a respectable job, but a bar, maybe a hostess club of some kind. She calls her boss -mama which is something you would call the proprietress of such a job.

In official canon, she has a father, but no mention ever of a mother. It's implied they're estranged.

Iino is definitely the most screwed up one in the manga.

Iino isn't a complete bitch, she did go back for him. Her first thought after she broke her arm wasn't even about herself, but about Ishigami. I also think Tsubame hesitated not only because of college, but because of Ishigami's relationship with Iino, though she can't say that.

The kid and all the men in the manga who lust after her are reader stand-ins for everyone reading the same ecchi manga. The ones who hate him so much doth protest too much. Don't take it so seriously.
