    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

This chapter kinda gave me the feeling that Misaki was interested in Riko. I dunno why, it's just she seemed kind of... jealous of Oyama, telling herself that there's no way Riko's going to be interested in sex with Kota, telling herself that Riko is already plenty sexy without fancy underwear...

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

Well thank God you're good enough at Japanese that you don't have to read my shitty translation then. Also, "some younger women"? Dude, I'm pushing 50 and even women my age know that "nasty" means "erotic."

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

Dirty, vulgar, and nasty are all given as decent translations of えげつない by the closest dictionary I had to hand. Why would you have preferred naughty? Note that all human translators localize to some extent; manga would come out as unreadable otherwise.

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

Can you point it out? I've been translating this series for more than a year, and I just did a search for "boyfriend" in all my scripts. I've used it in three chapters. Two of them have been have been describing Kota and Riko's new relationship; the third is Riko talking about "Yoko's...

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

I don't think she's ever said she had a boyfriend, at least in the time I've been translating. If she did, it slipped in during editing or something because I know the narrator said Yoko had never had a boyfriend.

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 185

The mangaka said (presumably jokingly) that he wouldn't do a Yoko spinoff specifically because it'd quickly turn into a dirty manga.

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 180

My feeling is that the guy (the one who likes Riko, not the ones who like Misaki and Yoko) probably likes her and is over-stating / over-estimating how many other guys do. Remember, this is the guy who likes her so much that he used a bunch of hopium to convince himself that those two aren't...

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 178

It suddenly dawned on me when translating an extra chapter a few weeks ago -- when she was talking about "progress", she used a term specifically about literature. I can't remember what it was, but think "exposition" or "plot development" rather than "relationship progress." It made me realize...

    Please Go Home, Akutsu-san! - Ch. 176

I can't guarantee you 20, but I can pretty much guarantee 14 plus extras over the next six months. This was the first chapter in a new volume, and volumes are coming out once every six months. They're not gonna end it just a few chapters into the volume. All these doom-and-gloom people saying...

Hana ni Arashi - Vol. 12 Ch. 147 - Acceptance and Pressure

The friend from Chapter 143 definitely knows about it; there's no doubt in my mind. I don't know whether she's said anything to the others, however.

Hana ni Arashi - Vol. 12 Ch. 147 - Acceptance and Pressure

If you can get used to listening to those conversations at 1.4x speed, then when the actual test comes and you only have to listen at 1.0x speed, it will be really to understand. To be clear, she's at the juku, it's still just a practice test.

    Kaette Kudasai! Akutsu-san - Ch. 171

These are short chapters. Right now, only 8 volumes have been published. Even if you view this as a standard rom-com, rather than what it really is which is a gag manga about two people who can't get together, it's still short. Nagatoro's on 19 or so, Takagi was 20, Kubo was 12, Cecilia's on...

Hana ni Arashi - Vol. 12 Ch. 143 - A Hint of Anxiety

Could be, but salaries and wages in Japan are a whole lot lower than they are elsewhere in the developed world.

Hana ni Arashi - Vol. 12 Ch. 143 - A Hint of Anxiety

I'm one of the people working on this fan translation and I don't see the problem with "Rainbows after Storms". "hana ni arashi" is just a set phrase that means that bad things sometimes interrupt good things. The English set phrase that they've used, that means that good things sometimes...

Rascal Does Not Dream of Siscon Idol - Ch. 1

In case anybody's wondering, "STAF ONLY" was there in the original work. I wouldn't want anybody thinking we can't spell.

    Kaette Kudasai! Akutsu-san - Ch. 163

You're missing the point. This gives her cover/an excuse to actually ask for something.

    Kaette Kudasai! Akutsu-san - Ch. 163

I'll cut and paste my Reddit comment in here for the Mangadex people: So, I knew that was gonna cause a stir when I translated it that way. That “home” is a bit stronger in English than it is in Japanese, because while in English that verb (帰る) only means “go back to the place I live”, in...

    Please Go Home! Akutsu-san - Ch. 162.5

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday week. I've been translating this series for a few months, and I thought I might as well take this chapter release (and the fact that I'm actually awake when it drops) as an opportunity to plug one of the other series I worked on, Alice-san Chi no Iroribata...

    Yancha Gal no Anjou-san - Vol. 13 Ch. 162 - Toyoda-san Wants to Pull Gacha with Inuyama-kun

A different group translated this chapter (and skipped over two others) and later deleted it.
