Since this post uses the .png extension to get around MD's file type upload restriction, this only works with chrome canary which sniffs the MIME type (and only works sometimes apparently). @AnacondaHL There is a closed issue on bugzillia that fixes this and is set to land in 81 either way rdn...

@Leewelo chrome canary and firefox under a flag, read the damn page https://caniuse.com/#feat=avif @Rugid better compression techniques then jpg, smaller files. all around better than jpg. lossy compression can be fine if done right. TBH id much prefer jxl, but thats not gonna be anytime soon...
