The request isn't weird in itself, but the chances of it being granted are 10 times lower than the already low chances of a general request to pick up a manga being granted. After all, you'd be asking a group to jump straight into a release war.

The correct translation of 恋人 will always depend on the exact context, and "lover" is an acceptable choice in certain contexts.

Speaking from experience, translating from Japanese isn't the best way to improve Japanese. I mean, it will improve, but your English writing skill will improve more. If you're after a learning, even if painful, experience, force yourself to translate TO Japanese, as unjouzu as it will turn out.
