I'm reminded of Sega's lost Judgment. Jeeebus. This class should have been destroyed from the get-go.

Why didn't he and his friend just restrain her and force her to unlock her phone so that they could delete the smoking photo right there and then? There were no witnesses around anyway if she tried to tell on them. Gotta teach bitches respect and fear swiftly to nip all of this in the bud.

Well... That really happened but not to destroy the evidence. Ikeda tought it's the entire class vs. that dipshit, what could go wrong, right?
Turns out things went south and here we are.

And what if she refuses? They beat her up? Then she goes to her parents and rats on all of them (which would be easy cuz she's covered in bruises) and gets them expelled. They were third years so they'd be liable to get prosecuted for the assault. And even if she deleted them, there's still the cloud, and even if she deleted them from her cloud, she would still have many ways for her to have the evidence. All your "solution" would achieve is making matters worse for them. And considering how things transpired when they did gang up, have.

All your "solution" would achieve is
Teach someone a valuable lesson, prevent a suicide, prevent a miscarriage, prevent like 15 other kids from getting blackmailed or bullied, prevent school staff from being traumatized and prevent a teacher from having his life utterly ruined for reasons beyond his control in the long run. These kids are smoking cigarettes on school grounds, they're not saints to begin with, so they might as well not be weak. But then again, I suppose this entire plot wouldn't take place.
And no, there's no cloud. She would've used that as a trump card when they drove her to commit suicide. And she wouldn't have one at all if her phone was destroyed there and then.

Huzzah progress!

Peer pressure makes one do some bad bad stuff. That's how it works.

So what should they have done? Things shouldn't have progressed so far as to cause that poor teacher to have a misscarriage, don't you agree?

Nowadays, portraying some problem children in manga is literally treating them as psychopaths, I mean, Kurosaki is not much different from Okaya in Maria no Danzai or the whole mess that is happening in Saihate ni Madou. The fact that a teacher is pregnant and the bullies don't feel any empathy for killing an unborn child is sickening to me, and I say that because Jimi Tarou was the next victim of that sick bitch.

Not only is Japanese society fucked up, but the entire world we live in is simply despicable. Meru from 100 Kanojo was always right, no matter how good a person you are, there will always be situations that will make you lose all hope in people, because this world is really rotten.

Sooo the assumption of some people in the comments is Yuriko was reverse bullied and then driven to suicide?

Isn't there the possibility that those were also part of her plan? Assuming she is indeed a psychopath using her own life to forever torment Jimi is a plausible thing no?

Generally speaking, half of all problem children are psychopaths. The other half are the ones targeted by said psychopaths.

Damn I kinda don't get what u guys are thinking,
But here's what I think 😅.
The people bullying are not so much as evil even if they did that evil act, let's just say it's just natural human things plus they are probably thinking that they are not accountable because they are being commanded by yuriko. Yes I'm thinking about that experiment lmao. Also the apologies maybe self serving but it reflects change on one's self especially if it's genuine and not from peer pressure. (I just remembered that boondocks scene😭).

@Iamcheater You still think she didn't deserve it?

You say that as if she couldn't just run away...

Ah, yes, because if you smoke you're also violent...

I said they're not without guilt due to smoking at school, not that they're violent. But they took a gamble by doing that, so they have to deal with the consequences quickly unless they want to suffer for it, as they did with that blackmail.

And don't give me "oh, they'd be screwed". This entire manga so far has shown that bad students regularly get away with much worse things like physical and psychological assault, attempted rape, attempted group rape, fraudulent rape accusations, conspiracy, attempted break-ins and burglary, suicide encouragement and premediated murder attempts of classmates and family, while the people who suffer for it are either those who either choose inaction or are on the receiving end. The only character who's facing anything close to actual punishment of any weight is Tsubaki, and only because Erika played her like a puppet and leaking evidence beyond anyone's doubt on a whim.

The school being well aware of all of this indicates that schools in this manga's universe will sweep these kinds of things under the rug until they can no longer ignore blatant evidence being shoved in their faces by the general public. Even then, students still get out relatively unscathed, as you can clearly see from the guy in this chapter, who clearly doesn't look like he was blamed and ostracized in life for his actions, to the point of developing major traumas, like Jimi and the other adult who was invited by Erika and slashed himself with a boxcutter at the school.

I reiterate - smoking at school is dumb to begin with, so no one's really clean in this story, but roughing up a rat who's meddling in other people's business would prevent much worse things from happening, and is a far lighter punishment than everything that was allowed to happen up to this point, all because the rat wasn't given a swift reality check for taking that gamble of hers. By this manga's plot rules, they'd solve a problem and more than likely not get punished for it, either.
