This reminds me a bit about the competitive atmosphere in Kaguya-sama with declarations of who won or lost at the end of the chapter, except the "competition" here is only one-sided and protagonists are both dorky idiots.

Rintarou's a meathead for sure, but fashion sense aside, given he's got enough rizz that girls are confessing to him, that makes him a certified himbo.

Giving Ino a win here probably helps salve her injured pride about the whole losing to his confession thing, so the more "W"s she gets the sooner they might start dating for real.

You seem to forget this is the same girl that from the onset had the sole objective to "rip his confidence as a man into pieces by lying until he kneels".
Part of the entire joke in my comment was to focus on when she decided to lie with good intentions, instead on when she decided to lie with malicious intentions. Because the contrast is funny.

ps:
plus how it all the while highlighted how that even if that was not the case the behaviour actually is despicable even in a vacuum, since all it does is set up the other person for future (and possibly consistent) failure, particularly in regards to their presentation towards yourself. Not to mention that lying itself is always bad, no matter your intentions or results.
But those layers were more tertiary, and rather an effect of reflecting reality, than anything intentional.
