It's against common sense to reveal the event he could not possibly know yet (“your grandfather just collapsed”) and then to follow up with “I wanted you to be happy”.

At this point it is understandable if she misinterprets all that as his confession of being both a yandere and a murderer.

At the time he met the maid and already knew what was going on from that side but didn't know where to look or where she would be when she died yet. Now he already knew where to look before she died. :meguu:
And also there are times when people could pick up on things happening in another's life when they look back on past interactions even without forthwall breaking insight when they mull things over a bit without the current event distractions.

He did just get sent back in time and then rush out to save his friend's life, it makes sense for him to be unsettled.

I question his delivery but I see a greater sense of purpose with his words and actions. Hopefully he doesn't come off as weird and psychotic lmao
