The sequel has a different cast, yeah, but there's no way this is the last we're gonna see of Kai or his slaves. I'm sure they'll show up again in the sequel, if it ever gets picked up for translation.

I actually think it's a nice end.for part 1.

Kei cant get.lucky all the time, it's not a shonen manga, so seeing him loose with real consequence is great.

Cant wait for second season.
I think this manga will get 3 season, like Bloody Monday.

Wow the ending is interesting and people seemed to think the manga got axed, im pretty sure it didn't. Because if it did, there won't be a "sequel".

So the question is why did it end like this?
Well in my opinion the sequel where it have a different mc, is to view the world in a different perspective. Because you have to remember that the underground world is huge and the first mc only come across 2 cities, so the sequel mc is going through other cities.

Remember that this series isnt a shonen where this one mc become op through hard work and conquer all the cities in the underground, this is a seinen series.

You just have to treat the ending as watching a movie, this whole manga is 1 movie of a universe, so no wonder the ending isn't an "ending" because it's still has more to offer.

So you kinda have to read the sequel to see more, and it's interesting to view more of the f*ed up stuff in the different cities of the underground. And im betting the ending will have all the mcs fighting together to destroy the underground district.

What the hell was that? He was able to control the drops of boxes so... why would he lose after having wiped out the entire enemy team? They also stopped throwing boxes off the platform after a while. It should at least stay even - platform-wise. So how can he lose? Did I forget something? Shouldn't it be in favor of the MC now? Why did he drop a box into the hole nearing the end? So many questions...

Fuckery dumb and bullshit ending. Kai will be just tortured until he dies, the point of all his development was for nothing, or will he get saved by the protagonist of the sequel while he has only one kidney and all limbs cut off? Lame

You’re all delusional about the ending is fine and how this is not a shounen manga and stuff
But honesty , the thing is this ending is just plain anti-climatic and lack luster ... it feel like the author is just trying to have a breakthrough of cliches to be “different from other manga”.
I didnt read the whole thing and experiencing the team n mc’s development just to move onto another cast . This chapter just feel like some cheap cliffhanger to “semi-force” people to read the sequel JUST TO KNOW what happened to the first MC ... so doesnt it feel like the whole point of and expectations of the sequel is just to see how the first mc ended up ? This ... is the cheap and effortless but money-making/milking of the manga industry . Dropped .
Disappointed w the author ruining his own work

Also remember that weird black haired girl at the beginning? Also the mentioning of him being able to have his own room when he becomes nobility or whatever. Why didn't they develop that? Makes no sense to mention it and then never again.

@espher How is the ending fine? Did you not read my comment? It makes no sense for the mc to lose. Hulk on steroids was able to push 3 fucking boxes at once into the lava. You gotta be shitting me if you can't win that with him.

Relax guys someone might just save him in the next chapter as always OR he might survive and get stronger as MC in Tokyo ghoul
Both are cliche but hey how many manga have u read so far are there any other unique outcomes left ?

I'm not a fan of a happy ending but even so, I don't like this ending even if the author plans this to be the start of a new series. also, I thought there were two way to win lex kill the enemy team or have the platform sink the lava shouldn't he have won since he killed the other guy's team

@digital004 if you haven't realized that was the last chapter so there's no next chapter and the sequel is about a different main character.
Although I saw Arimura, the Yakuza guy reappear in the sequel. So there's a chance other characters will reappear too. I hope
