I wonder what kind of deep thing will be revealed about Macchan later, since it looks to be going that kind of way. It seems like he and Kuranosuke are portrayed as parallels, with Macchan being social and "calculating" and Kuranosuke being cold/indifferent and calculating in a more overt way
