the lore seems so interesting but we'll probably never get anything more than surface level information

This gives me an impression that in the end Nene will be found out and somehow help cats and mouses unite to make trades or smth like that, 'cause mouses have a very advanced agriculture, while cats have advanced buildings and stuff like that, so it'll make sense to start trades between two countries, and by that, let cats and mouses in and out of their countries

Haven't read alot ahead yet but since all the species separated from each other I think it's a demand issue rather than it being controlled

Since most people only watch their own country content and it doesn't look like the computer is widespread yet there really is no reason to want to know about other culture unless you are an explorer or researcher so the demand for that information is pretty low. Seeing how expensive prices for information are it's likely it'll all be used for nearly illegal stuff or more personal content limited to the cat country. A comparison I would say is if you take a look at other countries that doesn't use English they have their own media entertainment and games that they don't really have much of a demand to look for others
