lol leveling up so many times for killing a guy chained up always made me laugh. Yea I know that the guy was a
, but still... such rpg logic XD "GUYS HIGH LEVEL SO OF COURSE YOU GET ALL THE XP EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING SPECIAL!". I'm guilty of doing this when running TTRPGs, which is part of why I find it funny I think 😂

@seyifumikage the guy was still chained up, only some of his chains were broken. Whether or not monarchs are powerful, if you know whose power MC has then you'll understand that it transcends above a single monarch or ruler. It's going to take more than that to truly challenge his power.

Also about the chains, on the novel
So now we know the plot (not a spoiler after this chapter): the Rulers send monsters with mana crystals to the dungeons, people get those from them and use around the world, and this strenghtens Earth itself to not be destroyed during the Rulers's huge scale war against the Monarchs (one of which Jin Woo's power comes from).
Some details missing still but its basically the main plot.
drain up their mana. Because he was chained for so long he had literally no mana and could not recover it, so he couldnt strenghten himself in any way or use any skills, unlike Jin Woo. In fact on the novel he takes a long ass time to cast that truth spell because of this, he couldnt use his mana to cast it.
Also about the chains, on the novel
Jin Woo checks himself by touching them and senses his mana being drained. Later he checks them to see if he could use them to drain someone's mana but they lose their effect once they are severed from the dungeon walls, so they would only work there.
