Ah, kinda have mixed feeling about the boys 2.
The literal nazi Palpatine is so on the nose, it's so obvious how they want us to hate her, she is 1-dimensional Vilain and feels kinda cheap (especially compared to Homelander). The whole plot still has the same problem as the boy's s1. Mainly the "I don't wanna talk about it" problem, where all of the drama, misunderstanding, and problem can literally be solved by just them talking to each other, yet they don't because of some reason. The Deep is kinda unnecessary at this point, "Rape is bad, abuse of power is bad, bla bla" we get it, there's no need to make a whole arc about how pitiful he is.

Many people said that the Butcher arc makes him a likable bastard of sort but I still don't like him. He is still the selfish, backstabbing, "My way or highway" kind of an asshole for me. MM is still a bro and Frenchie is still really interesting to listen to. And of course, Homelander is still the best villain, but I guess that's about it.

I kinda felt like she was just always this naive idiot that grew up in a different time where many of those views were kind of okay at the time (hating asians/blacks not the whole white supremacy thing) and that contrast was interesting in a society like today. Especially given that she played into the sjw feminist archetype. I wouldn't want her to stick around for that much longer, but one season was tolerable. Butcher is supposed to be hated, his subsequent depression & comeback will be much of S3 I feel, that too and literal AOC running for office will be interesting. The church growing power is also interesting IMO

At the risk of sounding sexist I love how wonderfully Shiina nails the "Supportive wife" role that has been villainized by western media in recent years. There's something wonderfully classically wholesome about a woman being the emotional pillar of her man.
