AAAAAAHHHHH I remember watching this at Japan Film Festival 2019. I love it so badly! Months and I still can't forget about this movie. It's now one of my favorite Japan movie. I'm glad this got an manga adaptation. Thank you for translating both to English and Indonesian! 🤩😍

I am just so much reminded of a certain courtroom drama. Can somebody who has seen the film spoil me? Just a little?

@Undorian I watched both US versions of 12 Angry Men, but not the Russian one. I prefer the remake with Jack Lemmon.

I don't know whether this manga modelled just the opening of the story after the film. The ideas of twelve people sitting around a table, and of just one dissenter, then two, are from the film. And of course, the film is about convicting a young man of colour (black in the first version, Latino in the second) for murder, not about people having to solve the matter of a corpse who got in the way of their suicide pact.

If the manga follows the pattern of the film,

a main antagonist will emerge, someone who will try their best to forge ahead with the suicide pact and dismiss, with logical arguments, the matter of the corpse. The other people will also be typical personality types: one that's easily swayed by a majority, an extremely prejudiced one etc. It will end with a complete reversal: they'll all give up on taking their own lives.

@Kendama

Thanks. I know (and love) 12 angry men, though. What I meant, was that this manga is obviously adapted from a Japanese film. I was asking if anybody has seen that one...

@Undorian It's adapted more from the novel, aside that the movie came out a year later after the manga, this is more similar to novel format (as seen by the long dialogues). The story and actions were obviously shortened in the movie to fit the duration, like Shinjiro just got up and went to see No. 0 while Kenichi was still debating with others, Satoshi wasn't really suspected so he didn't explain that much, the only backstory with flashback that we saw is only Nobuo's. In fact, right now we're only less than 20 minutes into the movie. I don't think it's really a spoiler, so I'll just let this like this.

@Kendama Man, that sounds interesting
and scarily similar with this
, I'll check it out later. Always love to watch/read things with deep topic like mental health along with unraveling the characters, bonus point if it involves murder.
