And just no consequences to his rampant disregard for his health
Damm, it's nice to see how the characters developed, but there was literally no consequences here, for anyone ever. No seriously, just that dude in the truck who took the fall for Onizuka, compared to so many who literally went full psycho.
The manga started out pretty good. Onizuka felt oddly relatable, a human being who despite being gangster-like felt far more legit than 99% of peeps out there. Made him feel like a real human bean.
Then onizuka is given superpowers, instantly removing the real human bean quality from him and then he just became an interesting philosophical sack of thoughts.
For a manga that deals with such complex issues, it sucks that it's ending is literally "Everyone lived happily ever after, THE END"
Additionally, there's what i can only assume to be the pervert's agenda, we are continuously led tp believe that blatant disregard for the person is cool as long as you pretend it's cool. No author, sorry, but no matter how much of a cool bean you are, it don't make groping cool.
Literally over 90% of the male characters here are needlessly perverted, most beyond all reason, and we're just supposed to shrug it off as "boyz will be boyz"
Dunno if there's a sequel to this, but i guess this isn't my cup of tea. It's like this manga tries to run contrary to it's themes, but atleast it did leave some good impressions on some things, so i guess i can't say i regret reading, but it def isn't the absolute bonkers masterpiece of the century everyone claims it to be
