This could have been a whole series man but I still like it very much. As already pointed out it's a fairly rushed and over quick but nonetheless left a good impression.

What a bittersweet ending. She gets to live but loses the only person who cared about her.

The story was fine, but the way the story is told, with all the long empty spaces was boring. And why didn't he leave with her, what's with that ending? There was no reason for him to stay. Nothing he could lose..

jesus christ people, can you not image a story where a woman is happy with out being attached to a man ?lol

Its more refreshing and realistic to show the story of a woman who was demonized and doing what she wants, in order to live, with out having to kiss ass to another abusive male characters for the 100th time like in other shoujo stories.

@blazing_boz: Well said! Though the guard wasn't really abusive as such—the boat-burning for instance was pretty much straight-up his job, he is the prison warden. But likewise, it would seem absurd to fault her for using his emotions—it being a life-and-death situation for her, quite straightforwardly—and it's easy to imagine she was not feeling terribly reciprocal with regards to his, her earstwhile captor's, feelings.

Anyway. I like her. She seems like a proper badass, even if she didn't ask to be.

Lots of "why didn't he leave with her?" Easy.

She didn't love him.

The Queen was doing what she had to do to survive. Not like she liked it, but had to do. I really enjoyed it!
