Nyappy bday aichan :3

Kinako looks like she could eat a lot, I wanna see her stack of plates.

I imagine cats being more restrained compared to dogs (cept those pics you see of them next to food bags they take a bite out of/open with their fangs) tho I wonder how many would actually just save some for later versus like a bowl being emptied each time (I'd think timer aside ppl would scoop out portions or so versus a large one for the whole day and them coming back a few times throughout)

Aw shame to not see some sushi chef cat but I expected either more cats to jump around if not a specific cat guard for them to be more controlled

What would cat sushi have different from normal sushi?

Pure fish? Sashimi?

maybe bonito flakes and churu instead of wasabi? IDK if cats can eat rice (well i don't think it's any added nutrition even if not 'bad', we gave my childhood dog rice instead of kibble bc my parents didn't wanna buy dog food but she was pretty healthy despite things)

i've seen cute vids of cats catching fish in a river/lake and proudly walking with them but idk how many survive off just that but at least in sashimi/sushi places there'd be ppl deboning it/removing the scales and such

This is pretty cute tho

I suspect human chefs, but cat chef would be very cool. Would have to be like Red Cat Ramen, where they learn not to shed on the food through sheer willpower.

Cats can eat cooked rice, but it doesn't do anything for them nutritionally (like EchoGirl thought) so it's a complete waste. And then sushi rice is normally vinegared, and that's bad for cats. There's also a lot of salt, especially in soy sauce, which is toxic to cats. Most 'wasabi' is really colored horseradish, which is bad for cats. And then a lot of the rolls have onions and stuff that would also be bad for cats. It's a cat deathtrap! Or at least vomiting / diarrhea trap.

So yeah, pure strips of fish (sashimi), with no wasabi and no sauces.

Interestingly, most tame cats actually don't like really fresh fish because it's not stinky enough. I fish, so I have a lot of cut off stuff when I'm cleaning the fish at home, and I offer some safe bits to my cats... nope, don't want it! Bet if I left it out a few hours it would get stinky enough for them, but I don't wanna do that.

Ah so they like stinky fishies, that explains why my cats go ballistic whenever I open a can of sardines.

well it's still a world of cats so even if it's a human sushi master, he'll prolly have a 'cat assistant' even if it's just there in a mascot capacity

haven't read that but missed opportunity to design some cutesy apron/bibs (tho like kids i can imagine some making a mess anyways XD). i wonder if we'll run into an egyptian sphinx/hairless breed yet, idk how common that'd be in JP compared to others (other than beerus from Dragon ball z/super being based on toriyama-sensei's cat lol but i imagine his cost of living as a famous name would be higher income than an average JP household who has a cat)
