You can't call inconsistency yet. Most likely they were deterred by DM family or were given the wrong meeting spot or some other reason.
It is annoying we don't get to see the reason in this chapter because it makes the entire chapter rather pointless though.
But hey this is true for 90% of the chapters so i can't complain i guess xD.

This chapter seems a little focused on worldbuilding more than the action we've seen in the past few chapters simply due to the amount of speech there is. I would think that your complaints are unavoidable but that's the same with the inconsistencies.

Looks like they are late for this "assembly".... and there are other kingdoms as well right?? or is the protag just going to stay here??
