Nah, that’s the furigana. It’s written to the side of the kanji, which I’m guessing reads as “Burn”. It’s that chuuni thing where the kanji is what it means and the furigana is how it’s stated. The group is just not translating the furigana names.

@welcome2atlantis : you would not likely get that many goblins running in terror in the same direction from just 1, especially if it i slow.
As to the scout, my guess is that the goblins were massing already and the trolls decided they looked a tasty buffet after the scout reported back.
