The problem, for the most part, is not just the age gap but that she is a minor and, while in japan such a thing maight actually be ok given the consent age and that I don't actually know about the existence of pedophilia laws there, just the rumor of it could cause him to lose his job and have a lot of negative impact on his life.
It would be as if you found out someone is dating a 15 yo while they are almost 30, wouldn't you have negative thoughs about the person?

TBH, with an overprotective grandfather (and the backup of his huge company) I don't really think unemployment is an issue. If anything, playing his cards right, MC-kun might get married into some serious cash and a position.
