As a 19 yr old male whose been chasing older 30 to 40 yr old women. I can tell you that feelings are not enough for a serious age gap relationship. Rather, it's about knowing the needs of a person in that age group era and having the maturity of mind sharing certain wisdoms and values. I'm 26 now, but that was the lesson to be learned back then.

I respect the MC here for properly weighing his "Feelings" now VS his "Knowledge/Wisdom" of her/his needs and then choosing wisdom no matter how hard. Regrettably, I'm willing to bet that girl is the presidents daughter or something lol. This will not be the last he sees of her. This manga will be enjoyablle.

@TrollKing Yea I understand that there might be a backlash but in reality there is nothing wrong with it. Back in the days people used to marry around that age without any problems but nowadays women get told that they will find happiness when they got a carreer and that marriage and kids are something to choose after. We in the west tend to see this as a positive thing but as time goes by women realize that when their study has ended and their carreer has started the fertility clock is really ticking. And now are unable to find a proper man lol. I'm all for free will and doing w/e the fack you wanna do but they are being misled XD.

Let's ignore the incel whining and context-less history lesson about women having lives outside of marriage and being married at 15 any more and say; after a certain age, an age gap doesn't matter as much (such as a 30 year old and 50 year old), but I find it kinda odd that people are like "yeah, fuck age gaps and social norms, people of any age should be able to be together if they love each other" without understand why exactly we frown on age gap differences so much or why specifically we look poorly on age gap relationships with someone who is specifically a teenager or very early 20s. There is an extraordinarily important power difference in a relationship between someone who is 15 and someone who is 30 and a significant generation gap (that he himself talks about) as to what their lives are like. Hell, a life at 20 is drastically different than the same exact person's life at 30. While people of different age groups can certainly get together and find love in the same things, often times that isn't enough to overcome the many other aspects of where that person currently is in life such as careers or plans for life or whatnot.

Speaking to the actual manga, this is some good shit so far as we've gotten two chapters where he clearly lets her down and tells her that he appreciates her feelings but he can't go out with her and then visits his ex at a bar where (even with the obvious trope of her never having gotten over him) we actually have an MC who has had previous romantic relationships and girlfriends and is able to have an adult conversation with his ex. I'm stunned some editor allowed him to not be a virgin-kun MC.

I suspect this manga may push hard into him being forced into a relationship (fake or otherwise) with the girl because of the obvious title and I dunno if it may go down some meh path after but so far it's pretty unique which gets me to forgive it's flaws a lot more generously.

So child predatory behavior and incestuous pedophilia! Sounds like a great idea for a series!

Honestly I'd rather this be a story of him and his ex getting back together.

it doesnt matter what you weebs say or wants cuz this is how its goign to turn out (no spoilers since I am guessing)

she gonna tell her dad, her dad is CEO of his company even tho he old af (KEY NOTE HER DAD LOOKS SUPER FUCKING OLD)

then CEO is gonna say something like age gap? OMEGALUL me and my wife got 30 year age difference or some shit like that.

CEO gonna tell dude to fucking marry his daughter or something.

then when all of this happens, all the other girls are gonna start flocking like nothing towards him now that he is somewhat "taken" by the highschool girl for whatever reasons.

his EX is gonna start becoming more of a bitch, his coworker, etc...

to be honest I am more interesting to see what his sister is gonna do when CEO dad tells him to go out with his daughter or someshit lol

Somehow "Velvet Kiss" is not too ridiculous compared with this.
They fuck quick in that one.
In this just a kiss will take years.

Those 90's nostalgia.
The only thing that hit me hard is tamagotchi.

In my country, that thing quite hype.

I think the series has done a good job so far of not glamorizing the relationship (lowercase r) between Yariba and Karen. Setting aside the age gap as a number, it's mostly about a difference in interests, pop culture, and life experience. As much as they may have that one thing in common (manga/LNs), the rest doesn't line up at all. I've had a similar thing happen at work before: There was a co-worker I got along well with, but a lot of my jokes went over their head, movie quotes were also woosh and when I would mention which movie it was from ... "Oh, that movie is really old, that's why..." etc. (Movie was from early 2000s) made it readily apparent things wouldn't work. (They were 19 even)

Karen still has way too much childish naivete, basically.

Finished the first LN the other day. It's actually pretty good and a lot less pandering than the cover implies and Yariba makes a pretty good show for the final act. With this chapter, the manga's just passed the climax of Karen's side of the story and about to enter the corporate slave side.

@kronix
That's her grandpa, not her dad and it's not gonna be that easy for them.
