I hate the "friend" there.
She abandoned main girl and when she made a new friend, she took him from her. Did all she could to turn her into a monster.
Do remember her ranting that the main girl wouldn't obsess about a guy like she is because she didn't do it in life so she must be a monster now - she had no one, MC was there for her when no one else was, even with the monster side of her. Of course she'd really focus on him. She had nothing else, her "friend" had abandoned her.

She knew nothing and made it everyone else's problem, lashing out and thrashing about.
Of course, I'm sure she'll get a free pass and be forgiven but I'd cheer if she bit it.

(Oops - nm)

I thought the possessing ghosts were helping him, and showed up to support goddess-chan. Then she devoured them all. 👻👻👻

Thanks for the translation!!!

psychic woman who was her friend when she was alive really just exists for no reason besides for this plot where he forgets her so that he can remember her again.

...I wonder if the exorcist friend saw Asahi shortly after she died (and likely was just the worm thing, since she calls it the "main body) and, through her experience with evil spirits with similar manifestations (human looking bodies and gentle "facades", but clearly evil intent) she didn't learn that not all of them are pure animosity or harmful desire - and thought her friend after death, had been reduced to that kind of being too.

Similarly to the main character before interacting with her, if you think about it - since he only seem to have communicated with her, out of all the ghosts he's seen before, going by his comment of how ghosts stuck to him before because of his gloominess, but nothing about talking with them or trying to resolve their lingering issues.

Also, one has to wonder how Asahi actually became as she currently is. Since clearly she STILL is trying to help people, her stalls is a "fortune-telling stand" which actually performs exorcisms. She has just lost touch with common human sensibilities, from her time alone as a ghost.
