why do female main characters in shoujo manga often lack any worth and are there just to cheer up the male main character(s)??? or have some character traits that make them strong but then stop existing after the first chapter lol. like, the girl could be smart af but after the first chapter, we won't see any real mention of grades or demonstration of her intelligence unless it's suuuuuuper convenient for the story and in any other situation, the girl will act dumb. smh my head

The girl MC was so unaware of things, even if she thinks he's just a light pole, it got to the point it was unbelievable. Even Mizuki went as far as to think they were the point of already together, past the point of just liking.
