It sounds like a hit on her own daughter, maybe on Ikoma.

But holy shit, I hope our MC gets away from her mom by the end of this. I fully believe "cut my tendons so I can't do anything myself again" is an actual statement that she'd fully pull on her own child, and that needs to be addressed by the narrative before the end of this.

But more importantly, thank you for continuing with this series.

Anzu talking up her mom's problems but breaking down into tears when Natsumi criticizes her mom hurts so much to see, I hope she can grow past all of that and fully come into her own through this band

on a lighter note, both of the "D-DUNNN" pages were stellar (especially with Get Up Lucy playing in the bg, thanks as always for including the songs referenced!), it was sweet seeing Natsumi push Anzu towards her dream by talking about her own experience playing, would love to see the crew see one of Natsumi's shows lol

thanks for the chapter!

seeing that she'd resorted to hiding her saved loose change and her CDs inside her stuffed animal kinda broke me.

I'm glad she has Natsumi and even Ikoma in her life, because I have to hope that they help start the process of her breaking free of her cage.

That shot of her running through the streets at night with the buildings twisting around and the starry sky spanning overhead was a true moment of freedom, and I hope we get that feeling for Anzu more and more as the series goes on.

Rather than a hit, to me it sounded more like she hired a private eye type to spy on Anzu
yeah, hiring an actual hitman to murder her daughter seems nonsensical even for this woman.

I had meant to continue the thought into "....but it's probably just a PI to track her daughter because clearly she's realized the GPS tracker isn't doing the trick", but I just forgot to actually put the rest of my line of thinking to text.
