Let's do some math!
Libido of main character was almost non-existent before the hit. Let's assume it was but a very small fraction of normal (because if we assume it was 0, then 4000*0=0 still).
As we can see, now main character has a libido kinda higher than average, but not that much higher (at most 2 times?)
So we can assume his initial libido was less than 2/4000=0.0005 of normal.
Hope the author did the math too (and it is not just me plugging plot holes)
