None of that really matters. Nie Li loves Ziyun, so that's it for him. He has helped Xiao Ning plenty in the past. In fact Ning would currently be indisposed and with degenerating cultivation without Nie Li. Instead, with Nie Li's help, she's one of the new generation geniuses. She owes a giant debt to Nie Li, not that Nie Li would have any intention to collect it. Ziyun is doing what she considers proper and what she wants to do.
