@vlainz You clearly haven't seen all of LH's work, they have a few chapters that are completely unreadable. I believe that other people redid those so you might not find them here, but idr the exact series/chapters, so I can't give any examples. I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough about that, and I'm sorry if this came off as rude.

Defense isn't limited to absorbing blows. So long as the enemy is the attacker, you can argue that anything in retaliation is done in defense. MC probably has OP powers through that loophole, and since this chapter shows he can extend this 'defense' of his to others, his harem will never be at risk either

I'm voting a case of misunderstood skill.

i.e. His skill isn't 'defense against attacks' but rather 'defending a target'
Which is why he was able to fight back when 'defending' the girl/orphanage.

In other words, his ability isn't to be The Wall or The Tank, but to mark someone else as his Berserk Button.
