During his fight in the first round against Haruo, Hiyama's analysis was rendered inaccurate because of Haruo's rapid weight loss so Akoya ignored her and fought on his own. Akoya's inner monologue after he decided to fight on his own implied that he relied on Hiyama's analysis to beat his opponents without killing them.
