its like the EX is bent on not letting the young girl fall in love nor get married,

seriously I think she is gonna end up becoming a counselor for them and suggesting they break up right and all "her" problems will get solved.

Seriously, why is the ex even there in the first place. If she liked the guy as much as she claims, she should've at least questioned and been a bug like she is NOW when he agreed to break up with her when SHE asked him too.

Not only that, they were only apart for like a year or two and she got married to someone and that marriage only lasted two years. She clearly is horrible partner material.

@Akemua not only that but she is also putting on her views and perception on the girl and keeps saying that whatever happened to herself will happen to her no matter what,

despite the fact not realizing she was a horrible Girl Friend and Wife herself (even observed from the MC himself)

its like she lost and now she doesn't want anyone else to win until she does.

Anyone seem don't understand the point of Mangaka. Why hate the girl that much ?

Remember MC in the beginning doesn't care that much and did this or else he lost his job. It make sense how she to believe him not suit for any kind of relationship. she clearly have good purpose, just doesn't want another little innocent girl have a terrible bad life. He changed, and when she look around the house, she know they did good. She leave.
If you don't read and see the progress. tell me you think it is a good idea when you read the set up at the beginning chapter 1 !

@comrade-sandvich That's what insane self-absorbed people are like. It's borderline narcissism because to them the idea it could be their fault never crosses their mind. They also continue to find excuses and reasons to blame all the bad stuff that happens to them on others instead of reflecting on themselves and forcing those ideas onto others until it's literally too late. Like she has clearly done with the male mc.

This cunt is the worst possible incarnation of the stereotypical ex girlfriend. Like the level of petty and cruel you hear from Comedians.

@Tcof: It could be this way, but from where I'm seeing it, I don't think it looks this way. Right of the bat she was butting into there relationship and is hell bend on finding fault. Each chapter she stops doing so, as she noticed, that it would be her, that would look like an evil witch, especially in her own eyes. As she finds most faults in other people, I believe she either has a tendential positive image of herself or, that something happened, that gave her a good reason to overthink her own image and now tries to convince herself, that she isn't an egoist (,which she fears, she might actual be).
Even though she surely enough is always back next chapter and tries to nag them apart.

Conclusion: She is envious:
Her relationship just blew up and it just happens, that her ex-partner just started a relationship. Suddenly she went from winner of the aftermath of their relationship to loser. Such a thing would be irking anyone, but in her case she is quite proactive to even the score out.

But there might be even more to that:
1. She moved back into the same city her ex resides in.
2. On their first meeting she came to the conclusion, Himari can do a pretty job on her own. It's like she tried to evaluate if Himari is a thread.
3.Afterwards she dropped the "I'm his ex-gf."-bomb, even after being told it would be tactless, just to shake her.
4. Everything above.
-> Theory: She is trying to get back with the MC, even if she does everything to deny it in the story.

@Qelix man, the author just want to some character to made a plot point. Take some faith in humanity, can you ?
after the chapter she saw they did well. Some bad mouth and deny him, i just see it like some old friend/coworker hanging out thing. Nothing serious. Also from the bad experiment she have, take some note to not let it happen again is what this all about. Even he admit it need more information because he know just put two people together like that in the first place didn't work like he and Himari.
I guess there is some envy in her, but i sure it not that much like you thing . just like me, shit here, reading all this couple shit

@Tcof: "Take some faith in humanity, can you ?" No. I refuse. ?

I stay at my POV. Her initial position to there relationship was way to hostile and even if the is now much less aggressive (as she started to befriend Himari), she keeps coming for more. Her telling everyone and herself, that she wants to save Himari from a bad situation, IMHO, is a way to fool herself into believing her behaviour is just and required.

We concur on that, Waka is a plot device to test and shake their marriage and let it evolve. We just differ on the characters motivation though.

@Qelix I don't understand the hate for Waka. She sees things in a realistic normal woman's POV. If I was Himari, being forced into a marriage with someone I don't know, not even have a ring or a wedding, not even meeting his family, I will be really angry and would raise hell with those government officials. You guys were blinded by the prejudgment that the MC and the heroine belong together and forgot that this is a forced marriage which normal women like me would oppose.

@Yautja I don't see how it is a typical ex-girlfriend situation. She was speaking as his friend and as a woman defending another woman. She pushed him to think seriously about their relationship. To you Westerners, meeting the family and getting parents' approval is not a big deal but it is important to us Asians. Important to the point that if parents don't allow the marriage, we won't get married so it is important that he should bring Himari to meet his family.

Then you don't know what you're looking at, and I am an Asian dude. How pretentious do you have to be to say "you Westerners" to someone you've never met to belittle and dismiss their opinion. I wasn't born in Asia but I was raised within a chinese speaking family with full awareness of the culture. I've also spent years reading and watching all kinds of content from Japan and speaking to friends from across the pond, I'm far from unaware about family approval you pretentious ass. Don't assume shit about people. Especially when it doesn't validate your opinion and makes you look like a prick.
