Furumi should be in support of Nogi, why he helped opposing side? Or that's Nogi's decision because "the worst possible opponent" will gear up Sen to his peak condition, in preparation for fighting Fang. If that's the case, he is also backstabbing Teito Uni since they're his ally too.

Looks to me as if Bando's the "worst" opponent for Sen right now because he needs to "warm up" for the next fight against either Fang or Gaolang which are the top of the tournament, and Bando is not good enough to get Sen into top form for the next round.

Hatsumi is a practitioner of Aikido which has a focus on grappling, joint locks, flow redirection etc. all of which are nigh useless on Bando due to his insane joint flexibility. That's most likely why he is the "worst" opponent for Hatsumi.
